JEWISH COMMUNITY RELATIONS COUNCIL - OH NO! NOT AGAIN!!

There was time that Jews lived in fear of violence, reprisals, and ultimately death from the Nazis in Germany.  Even today, there is fear in many countries where Jews still live of violence from radical Jihadists.  But one would never think that Jews should live in fear from their own people, right here in Metro Detroit – that is - until recently. 

This is the very reality of what is happening in Detroit’s Jewish community! A multitude of Jewish organizations and synagogues are cavorting, dating, dancing – whatever you wish to call it - with those who seek our demise.   These very organizations, who purport to be the stalwarts and protectors of our community are opening up our most sacred buildings to those who have called for our destruction, and putting our community, our children, and all that we hold sacred in great peril. 

And spearheading this pending holocaust against their fellow Jews is the JCRC (Jewish Community Relations Council), an organization supported if not in whole, then close to it,  by the JFMD (Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit) through contributions from our community.  

JCRC is not new to this type of controversy.  Their past transgressions against the Jewish community include their Executive Director, Robert Cohen, publically supporting the sale of Farmington Public School’s Eagle Elementary to the Islamic Cultural Association, an organization with ties to groups (CAIR & NAIT) who are unindicted coconspirators in the Holy Land Foundation Trial. Just this week The Thomas More Law Center requested that the Attorney General for Michigan convene a grand jury to investigate corruption and illegalities related to this sale.  See press release here. 

And when it was announced that the Jew-hating, anti-Semite Helen Thomas was to have a statue at the Arab American National Museum, then JCRC President Richard Nodel was quoted as saying, “I just hope that the support for this memorial is there despite her anti-Israel and anti-Semitic views and not because of it.”  Read more about Nodel’s abuse of the Jewish community here. 

Yep, these are just a couple of examples of the people who through their positions at the JCRC purport to represent the well-being of our Jewish community.  Hey, with friends like that, who needs enemies? 

Now, back to the latest foray by the JCRC into helping speed our destruction; A Candidates Forum.  Sounds harmless enough…doesn’t it?  And those who are politically inclined would probably welcome an opportunity to hear what candidates for the new 14^th Congressional District have to say about issues like anti-Semitism and Israel – certainly topics of great interest to most of Jews. 

But, why would the JCRC partner with the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan (CIOM) on a candidate’s forum geared to the Jewish Community? And why would synagogues like Beth Ahm, Shaarey Zedek, Beth Shalom, and various other JEWISH synagogues and organizations want the CIOM as a co-sponsor?  

If you don’t know about the CIOM, then here is the skinny on who they are and why they are so dangerous.  Many of our Talking Tachlis readers may remember the controversy surrounding the appearance of Imam Mustapha Elturk at Congregation Shaarey Zedek for a 9/11 remembrance.  Elturk, is no friend to the Jews.  Even the National ADL  has warned about the dangers of the group from which he emanates.  And, according the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT), Elturk’s mosque in Warren, MI recently hosted Dawud Walid (Executive Director of CAIR – another unindicted coconspirator in the HLF) who gave a sermon on May 25, 2012 where Walid was audio taped as preaching, "Who are those who incurred the wrath of Allah?" "They are the Jews, they are the Jews," he answered himself in Arabic. 

Elturk has yet to distance himself from these hate inciting words, thereby condoning Walid's words with his silence.    

Also, Elturk is the president of the Islamic Organization of North America ( IONA) which is the American branch of Tanzeem-e-Islami, a group founded by Dr. Israr Ahma  who  appointed Elturk to head  IONA.  Besides promoting Islam, Tanzeem promotes the idea that Israel was responsible for 9/11.  Quite astounding that Elturk spoke at Shaarey Zedek at the 9/11 Commemoration!  

According to the ADL (of all places) website,” In recent years, the North American members of Tanzeem have attempted to reestablish the group as a mainstream American community organization. In 2004, Tanzeem adopted a new name - the Islamic Organization of North America (IONA) - establishing a mosque in Warren, Michigan, and at least once participated in an interfaith event with a Jewish organization.” Emphasis added. 

Also, IONA, according to the ADL radicalized Samir Khan who became the publisher of the al Qaeda's internet magazine Inspire . Khan was killed last fall by a predator missile in Yemen  and Elturk in a New York Times article written after Khan's death talks about  his relationship with the Khan family over the years and his call to the family expressing condolences.  Read more about IONA here.

It doesn’t take much to connect the dots, and just a little vetting by our Jewish organizations would have revealed who they are sleeping with. Clearly, the group that El-turk represents is that very same co-sponsor of A Candidates Forum with a multitude of Jewish agencies…ALL BEING HOSTED AT SHAAREY ZEDEK – AGAIN!!  

There is an old saying…fool me once shame on you…fool me twice, shame on me. So it is unbelievable that Shaarey Zedek would want to once again host a program with a group that is represented by the likes of Elturk.  Shame on them.   

Of course, this is all spearheaded by our JCRC under the guise of “civic engagement” and the JCRC uses lots of euphemisms like “religious diversity” and “social justice”.  But then, the Nazi’s claimed to be doing much of their dastardly deeds under the guise of “social justice” too.  We should be forewarned not to listen to that kind of dangerous rhetoric again – or ever.   

Also, the JCRC claims, “The Jewish Community Relations Council advances Jewish interest, promotes Jewish values, and advocates on behalf of Jews at home, in Israel and around the world.”  Really??? Is cavorting with our enemies “promoting Jewish values” or is it sentencing us to a fate much like 6 million of us faced a mere 70 years ago? Is the JCRC just the latest incarnation of those communal organizations who tell Jews that we must get along to survive, while we are led to our demise?   

And the JCRC claim that it “unifies, mobilizes, and represents the metro Detroit Jewish community” is at best disingenuous.  Perhaps those that they are “mobilizing and representing” care nothing about the safety of our community - especially our children, or about the longevity of the Jewish people.  For if we allow this to continue, rest assured, there will be no Jewish community for the JCRC to represent.  

It is time for the Jewish community to stand up and say, “We’re mad as hell and we won’t take this anymore”.  And there is no better way to do so than talking with your wallet. 

Talking Tachlis encourages our readers to call JFMD at 248-642-4260 and demand that the CIOM be removed as a sponsor from this event, and that the JCRC submit an apology to the Jewish community for this heinous crime.  Otherwise, inform the JFMD - the major funder of the JCRC, that you will no longer donate – that you are “mad as hell and won’t take it any more”!!

It is sad - but true – MONEY TALKS!

 And from our perspective, it is time that our community starts talking and we say…NEVER AGAIN!
